These baskets are very sweet and easy to make. You can create a bunny, chick, frog or plain basket. The measurements of the baskets are 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” x 4 1/2” (this doesn’t include the area of the animal’s head on the front side that is taller than the sides of the basket). Patterns can be reduced or enlarged to make different size baskets.
Material is fused to the wrong side of the fabric so the baskets hold their shape. I fused white duck cloth to the fabric. Other materials that you can use are felt (wool or acrylic) or iron-on interfacing.
Materials Needed to Make One Basket:
-Fabric for outside of basket – 12” square for animal basket or 10” x 12” rectangle for Plain basket
-Material for lining – 12” square for animal basket or 10” x 12” rectangle for plain basket (cotton duck cloth was used for sample basket – felt (wool or acrylic) or heavyweight iron-on interfacing can also be used)
-Iron-on fusible web – 12” square for animal basket or 10” x 12” rectangle for plain basket

-Heavyweight iron-on interfacing or stabilizer for handle – 3/8” x 10” strip (Peltex from Pellon was used for sample baskets – interfacing/stabilizer is fused between the ribbon pieces to make the handle sturdy)

great and easy pattern. Perfect for Birthday party goody bags.
This pattern was so easy and turned out adorable! I made a Valentine's Day basket for my son to use at preschool while handing out Valentines. I made it out of car fabric with rick rack at the top. I used cotton fabric with fusible fleece and it stands up perfectly. It was precious! The instructions are great and it comes together so fast. I will be making these for every season!
