“This was just what I needed to complete my new grandson's baptism outfit. I left off the lace and made the shoe more masculine.”
These booties are so pretty and at the same time comfortable. They can be made from many different fabrics. They are shown here in white satin on the outside and white felt fused to the inside. They would be an adorable accent to any outfit, and especially for a christening. Ribbon is sewn over the raw edges so there is no fear of fraying. The edges of the ribbon are sewn together in back so there are no lumps that could rub tiny feet.
An example of them sewn in red felt on the outside and cotton fabric on the inside is also shown in one of the side photos. How cute your little princess would look in these adorable booties!
They are very easy to make and a way to adjust lace is given so that any size can be used to embellish the booties. Satin is used for the outside of the sample booties. You can also use velvet, denim, cotton, etc.
This 9 page PDF ePattern includes full size patterns, a materials list, instructions written in English and step-by-step photos. The booties can be made to fit babies from 0-18 months. Patterns are given for all sizes including a way to adjust the pattern to fit any size larger or smaller that may be desired. Optional instructions are given to make non-skid soles on shoes for babies that are walking.
