Play tool belt/apron with 4 tool pockets, a zippered pouch, and a hammer loop. Designed with the Montessori method in mind with a hook & loop closure for easy on and off without adult help. A belt adjuster provides the perfect fit for sizes 2T – 10.
Tool applique patterns and instructions for raw-edge applique included.
This pattern is written for intermediate sewers. You will need to be familiar with common sewing symbols and techniques.
You need only a basic sewing machine with straight and zig-zag stitches and a zipper foot.
Main: Medium weight wovens such as quilting cotton, chambray, light twill, or light denim (6 oz max). Avoid heavy fabrics such as bottom weight denim.
Contrast: Medium weight wovens such as quilting cotton.
YARDAGE: (44" wide)
Main Fabric - 5/8 yd
Contrast Fabric - 1/4yd
Also, need a small scrap for tape measure label
6” (minimum) polyester zipper
1” wide webbing/belting, 3/4 yd
3/4” wide hook & loop such as Velcro®, 2" (adhesive backed recommended)
strap adjuster or 2 D-rings for 1” wide webbing
1/4” - 1/2" wide grosgrain ribbon, 4"
permanent, stitch-able fusible web such as Steam-A-Seam® for applique
fabric sealer such as Fray Check(TM) by Dritz® (optional)
wash away double sticky tape for non-adhesive hook & loop (optional)
removable fabric marking pen
wax-free dressmaker's carbon
paper & tracing wheel (optional)
