Dancing Maples is an original quilt pattern for a table runner measuring 16” x 42” and six placemats measuring 12" x 17". Rolled-back folded bias edges give these leaves curves and apparent movement as they float above the background, but there is no curved piecing. Avoid directional prints for the leaf and background fabrics because the fabrics will be cut and sewn on various angles.

This quilt pattern is suitable for the intermediate quilter. The pattern contains detailed instructions and illustrations of all steps, as well as quilting suggestions. If you would like scrappy leaves, replace maple fabric requirement with a 9” x 10” fabric scrap for each leaf.
