Barn Baby Blankies are the perfect size for baby's snuggle lovey blankie. Use different fabrics for texture stimulation.
Think about extra padding and use as a nap mat!
Use fleece, cotton, flannel, satin, wool, fake fur or vinyl. Trim with fun yarns, buttons, threads, beads, ric-rac, etc! Your Chick is limited only by your imagination!
Fabric & Notions:
(Based on min 42" width fabric)
Egg: 2 yards of Woven cotton, flannel or fleece
Remaining Fabric can be of any type: woven cotton or wool, fleece, flannel, fake fur, vinyl or fake leather with backing
￼Chick: 2/3 yard
Feet, Beak: 1/4 yard or medium scrap, 12" x 18"
Tongue: Small scrap, 3" x 3"
Eyes: Small scrap, 8" x 8"
Pupils: Small scrap, 2" x 2"
Iris: Small scrap, 2" x 2
Fusible Web: 17” wide x 30”
Batting: Piece at least 38"x44"
(if using fleece, batting is optional)
Thread to match Egg, Feet & Beak, Tongue, Iris
Thread a shade darker than Chick's fabric
Cotton or Embroidery Floss for Tying, Needle to fit (if using fleece, tying is optional)
Washable Fabric Marker
Optional: Embellishments to make your blankie unique; Buttons, Specialty Yarn, Rick-Rack, Ribbon, etc.
