“I made this for my son a few months ago and he loved it.”
Do you remember playing with "Roly Poly" bugs when you were a child? Or do your children play with them now? Many children are fascinated with these harmless isopods and love to go outdoors searching for them. Now you can make "Charles Chuggypeg", a felt "Roly Poly" bug that your child can bring inside and snuggle with. Or take to school for show-and-tell! In addition to step-by-step instructions with corresponding color photographs, you'll get a fun instructional printout on how to make a Roly Poly Habitat and a Roly Poly Poem that introduces your child to saving our planet. The printouts are great as an addition to the toy if you give it as a gift! This pattern will make one "Roly Poly" bug 3" long by 1.76" wide. You'll need some basic beginner sewing/embroidery skills.
A sewing machine (not required) for the dorsal lines only but you can stitch these by hand or draw them on.
Felt (white for the eyes and then 2-3 other colors for the back, belly, legs, and antennae)
Embroidery Floss and Needle
Scissors (plain and pinking shears)
Pattern includes: Cover Page, Index, Supply List with favorite suppliers, Instructions with step-by-step color photographs, Tips and Tricks, How to Make a Roly Poly Habitat, Roly Poly Poem, and Full Scale Pattern Pieces.
*The "Roly Poly" toy does not actually "roll" into a ball but he's so cute you wouldn't want him to.
