The Celebrate Mug Rug Pattern will allow you to create a charming modern mug rug featuring a festive bunting swag and a hand-embroidered detail. Simple quilting and machine embroidery add interest, and my tutorial-style directions with photos will walk you through the process.
The finished mug rug measures about 6 1/2" long by 10" wide. It's the perfect size for a cup of coffee or tea, plus a snack.
4 to 6 assorted 5" squares or charm squares for tumblers
fat quarter or large scrap of fabric for background
fat quarter or large scrap of fabric for backing
1 1/2" x 40" strip of fabric for binding
8 1/2" x 12" piece of Pellon fusible fleece 987F
12" x 12" fusible webbing, such as Heat n Bond Lite or Steam a Seam 2
