These are the funnest of things to make! You can whip them up in no time, and look at what a cute gift it would make for someone special. Since they do contain a photograph, I feel they would make much better decoration rather than using for mugs or snacks.
I guide you through the entire process from beginning to end using the machine applique method because I wouldn't advise putting the photo through a hoop if using hand applique.
I've made my patterns very easy to read and understand. I give you a complete list of everything you will need to complete the project. I've broken everything down into step by step instructions and have included of full color illustrations. The pattern pieces are very crisp and neatly drawn using a computer program.
Personal & commercial use.
Small scraps of fabric for appliques
1/8 yard of light weight paper backed fusible webbing
6 1/2 x 10 inch piece of fabric for top (see supply notes about starting with bigger fabric if desired)
6 1/2 x 10 inch piece of fusible fleece, I used Pellon brand
7 1/2 x 11 inch piece of fabric for back
Printable fabric, one sheet will make four photo printouts
2 3/4” x 44” strip of fabric for binding
Thread to match fabrics
Embroidery floss to match or contrast with applique fabrics, and for any special stitching
Embellishment supplies of your choice (examples: buttons, beads, ribbon, fabric paint, etc)
Refer to pattern page for additional information, tips, and embellishment & embroidery ideas.
If you will be using glue for attaching embellishments such as wiggle eyes, pom-poms, or bows, be sure to use a good quality and washable fabric glue. I like to use Fabri-tac by Beacon.
Scissors, pins, sewing needles, paper & pencil, paper or cardstock (for printing pattern pieces), iron & ironing board, sewing machine, cutting mat with ruler & rotary cutter (optional), pressing cloth or piece of light colored, 100% cotton fabric for fusing your fleece to the top (depending on the brand you use, some fusible fleece instructions call for it).
You can use my patterns for personal use and to make things that you sell from your website, online shops, and craft shows.
All photos were taken by me, and all illustrations, pattern pieces, and instructions were created by me. You can not redistribute the pattern, images, or photos in any way. You also can not claim the finished item as your own design.
