Doll Dress, Aprons & Bags for 18 Inch Dolls
Description
The 18 inch doll dress, aprons and bags are so sweet & easy to make! The dress can be made with three styles of sleeves – a short straight, a gathered short and a gathered long. Instructions are also included to make a half and full apron. The bag can be made as a small shoulder bag, a medium flat tote and a large overnight bag. Cotton fabric was used for samples – Specialty fabrics like taffeta, satin, etc can be used to make fancy dresses, aprons and bags. Double fold bias tape was used to finish neck and short straight sleeve edges. Velcro fasteners are sewn to the center back opening of the dress so it will be easy for small children to dress and undress their doll. This PDF e-pattern includes full size patterns, detailed materials list, clear instructions written in English, and step-by-step photographs.

Materials
MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE ONE DRESS (any style):
FABRIC - 1/2 yard for dress front, back & sleeves, 1/8 yard if making collar
DOUBLE FOLD BIAS TAPE – 3/4 yard (finished width of tape is about 1/4”)
VELCRO FASTENERS - two 1/2” x 3/4” sets (1/2” strips were cut from a 3/4” wide Velcro strip for samples) 1/4” ELASTIC – 3/8 yard if making gathered sleeve with elastic casing
OPTIONAL LIGHTWEIGHT FUSBILE INTERFACING - if making collar from a lightweight fabric, 1/8 yard may be needed for stability
MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE ONE APRON (either style):
FABRIC – two 7” x 9” rectangles for apron front & back (front and back can be cut from the same fabric or
from different fabrics – apron is reversible if made without lace so you may want to use two
different fabrics that coordinate with dress)
5/8” RIBBON – 1 1/2 yards for ties
OPTIONAL GATHERED LACE – 1/2 yard of 7/8” wide
MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE ONE BAG (any style):
FABRIC – 7” x 9” rectangle
ACRYLIC FELT – 7” x 9” rectangle
FUSIBLE WEB – 7” x 9” rectangle (Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 Fusible Web by The Warm Company was used for
Sample bags but any fusible web for fabric will work fine)
DOUBLE FOLD BIAS TAPE – 1/2 yard (finished width of tape is about 1/4”)
BUTTONS – two 1/2” buttons for strap & one 11/16” to 15/16” button if making ribbon loop closure
1/4” to 3/8” RIBBON – 1/2 yard for strap & one 4 1/2” piece if making ribbon loop closure
MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE ALL CLOTHING ITEMS: Sewing thread & standard sewing supplies
