No question about it, simple is sweet! The most adorable and wearable styles are amazingly easy to construct. This eBook contains patterns and instructions for easy-breezy tops and dresses in sizes 6 months through 8 years. Bodice options include jumper and halter styles that can be made in both empire and natural waist lengths. Strap choices include scrunched elasticized straps, ruffled elasticized straps, and long and short ties. These strap options are all cute, quick, and fastener-free! The skirt has lots of options, as well. You can finish with a simple hem, or add a full ruffle or a contrasting cuff. You can even fold the skirt piece into a double-thickness ruffle for a fast, perky finish. Detailed instructions and size charts are provided so you can make the skirt in the perfect length to get just the top or dress style you are after. And, as always, tiny patterns are included to make matching tops and dresses for dollies.

This is really a 10 star pattern. It is amazing. There are so many details crammed in, BUT yet so simple. And so many options you can make TONS of different dress with one pattern.

All of carla's patterns are awesome. They are so easy to follow, yet make it look like you have been sewing your whole life. I love the different strap options. You can make each dress look differnt in the end while starting out with the same pattern. Love it!!!

This was one of the first patterns I bought and used for my then 1-yr-old daughter. She is now five and I think I've made nearly every variation of this pattern (and there are lots!). It is super cute as a long top with bloomers for a little one and gorgeous as a dress for bigger girls. Last year I made the halter version for my daughter's Easter dress and got so many compliments. :) My favorite variation is the ruffled 'angel wing' type sleeves, empire bodice and ruffles along the hem of the dress. It is my go-to pattern and I love it! Love the fit, love the detailed instruction, love the computer-generated pattern pieces, love the dolly version. Love it all!

Okay... it took me a long time to purchase this pattern. I was worried about the fit, due to the fact that it has no zipper, buttons, shirring, velcro, etc. and it's made from woven fabrics. But it works! It still boggles my mind that it fits, but it does. The pattern and especially the addition of Carla's amazing tutorials for transforming the dress into Disney Princess Dresses on her blog have made this a new favorite for me. If you're worried about the fit of this pattern- Don't be.

I've sewn primitive dolls for a few of years (no rules, easy peazy) , and have always wanted to (sew clothes), but was afraid because of the patterns one would by in store were so confusing, I have had no formal training , I taught myself via YouTube and other sites to make dolls, I Jumped into this with two feet and bought 3 of Carla's patterns, I spent 8 hours , yes, 8 hours non stop making the halter dress yesterday ( it was so much fun couldn't stop made mistakes cause I didn't pay attention, A.D.D SEAMSTRESS)LOL, I feel I've learned more from one of Carla's pattern, than I ever have from any other source in my 4 years of sewing!!!!!, clear and precise, highly recommendable , very very professional well made clothing I impressed myself!!!! thanks Carla , keepem comin"

I have made sooo many dresses and tops for my daughter from this little pattern!!! And they are all so different noone notices that I'm using one pattern over and over! That's because you can change the straps, the top, the skirt - you can make a top or a dress and all in different lengths. You can make it to wear alone or over a longleeve top for winter, or pair it with decorated jeans or ruffle pants for a cute outfit. Soooo versatile! And I love that even as she gets bigger, I can still use this pattern because it comes in so many sizes! Easy enough for any beginner to put together or for a more advanced sewer to really doll it up!
