Ahoy! Wouldn't this smiling skull and crossbones applique look great on a tote bag or skirt? Although the shaping is a bit complicated, the glittery silver applique is crocheted entirely using simple chain, single crochet, and slip stitches. Make several and really get your pirate on!

US crochet terminology
FINISHED SIZE: Skull: Approx 4 ¾” (12 cm) high x 3 ½” (9 cm) wide. Crossbones: Approx 6” (15 cm) long x 1 ¼” (3 cm) wide.
GAUGE: 17 sc = 2” (5cm), 17 rows = 2” (5 cm)
STITCHES USED: Chain stitch (ch). Slip stitch (sl st). Single crochet (sc).
