This is a versatile pattern for boys and girls. This vest is perfect for the cold days, it is fully lined with high collar, welt pockets and it closes with a zipper. You can even make this vest reversible by using a reversible zipper!
You can make this vest with or without pockets, this tutorial includes the instructions to make welt pockets but you easily can skip those and add a different type of pocket instead; such as patch pocket or flap pocket (this are not included in this pattern).
The version without pocket is very simple to sew and makes it a good project for beginners, while the version with pockets requires more sewing skills, and is more suitable for an intermediate sewer.
This vest was easy to make. My first time putting in a zipper.
Great Pattern! I have been sewing about 2 years, but have steered clear of zippers and any form of closure besides elastic for fear of messing up. The directions in this pattern were wonderfully easy to follow and made a super cute vest! My son loves it. I made mine out of some old fleece blankets just for practice and it turned out great (both layers were fleece on mine). I have recently purchased some flannel and corduroy to make another! So glad I purchased this pattern.
Love this pattern. I had never done a reversible zipper before, and I found the directions easy to follow and breezed right through it. I'll be making more of these!
