These stockings are hand appliqued, then cut out and stitched together. If you prefer to machine applique, that's fine too. They are fully lined and have a nice big cuff so you can put a name on if you want.
Supplies needed to make 1 stocking
(if making both, just double the fabrics, fusible fleece & fusible webbing):
3/8 yard of fabric for outside of stocking
5/8 yard of fabric for lining, cuff, and hanger
3/8 yard of fusible fleece (Pellon brand was used in this project)
1/3 yard of Heat N Bond Lite (fusible webbing)
Small scraps of fabric for applique pieces
4 buttons for reindeer, approximately 1/2”
3 buttons for snowman, approximately 5/8”
2 - 12” lengths of 1/4” wide ribbon
3 Dimensional paint, black, green, & red
***If you prefer not to use paint for decorating the gingerbread people, you can use bells, buttons,
beads, embroidery floss, anything else you’d like.
Embroidery floss to match or contrast with your applique fabrics & black for reindeer face
Sewing thread to match fabrics
5” to 7” embroidery hoop(s), scissors, pins, embroidery needle, paper & pencil, cardstock (for
printing applique pattern pieces, optional), iron & ironing board, sewing machine, pressing cloth (I use
a 100% cotton fabric), cutting mat with ruler & rotary cutter (optional)
