Very easy dress. I've made several of them now. My girls love them.
I would recommend this pattern to everyone, it is the perfect little dress!
I like how concise the instructions are.
I love all dresses by "The Handmade Dress". She has the most adorable styles coupled with the simplest of patterns. This dress took me a bit to figure out, but once I did I could whip more out in no time! Love it!
I recently tried one of Sam's other patterns the 'Miss Madeline' and fell in love with it so when I saw the Miss Mary I HAD to give it a try! I made 2 of these for my twins as Easter dresses (the pink & purple ones in the slide show). The fabric requirements on this are very generous. If they fabric doesn't shrink more then 2" I can get a 4t & all the smaller sizes out of 1 yard of the main fabric plus 1/4 for the lining. Also instead of making the straps out of fabric I found an easier & cheaper option... I bought 3 yards of 1 inch ribbon for each dress. That saved a decent amount of time & only cost $1.50 at the local craft shop. I made both of these the night before an Easter egg hunt & I only spent 2-3 hours making both of them & honestly I was working on them in between playing with my 2.5 year old twin girls, so maybe less. They went together easily & I am very pleased with the finished product! Everywhere they have worn them we have been stopped & gotten lots of comments (though they are identical & it happens pretty often anyways, but it was more then usual). I also like that her patterns aren't 50-70 pages long, this pattern is only 10 pages long including the pattern pieces for the bodice! She doesn't have 30+ photos but there are good diagrams included. I highly recommend this pattern! It is a quick simple dress that has endless possibilities, definitely worth the money.
