These are so fun and quick to make! If you choose the machine applique, you can whip these up in no time. They make great gifts for friends or even to treat yourself. Get yourself a cute hanger or stand and make them for all seasons and occasions. They are so easy whether you hand applique or machine applique. The most difficult part is trying to decide what fabrics to use.

If you don't have a stand or hanger, they have a rod pocket along the upper edge so you can keep the top nice and straight while hanging by inserting a wooden dowel rod. You can stitch some plastic rings at each upper corner for hanging.

I guide you through the entire process from beginning to end. I explain how to do it with hand applique and machine applique. I also give you tips and ideas for variations using different materials. I also give you lots of tips and illustrations.

I've made my patterns very easy to read and understand. I give you a complete list of everything you will need to complete the project. I've broken everything down into step by step instructions and have included lots of full color illustrations. The pattern pieces are very crisp and neatly drawn using a computer program.

Personal & commercial use.

14 x 14 inch piece of fabric for back, plus a 4” x 11” piece for rod pocket
(2) 3 1/2” x 30” strips of fabric for binding
Fray-check (optional)
Thread to match fabrics (plus thread to match applique fabrics if using machine applique method)
Embroidery floss to match or contrast with applique fabrics if you will be using hand applique method
Embellishment supplies of your choice (examples: floss, buttons, beads, ribbon, fabric paint, etc)
1/4” dowel rod and two small plastic rings for hangers for the back (if not using a quilt stand)

Refer to pattern page for additional information, tips, and embellishment & embroidery ideas.

If you will be using glue for attaching embellishments such as wiggle eyes, pom-poms, or bows, be sure to use a good quality craft or fabric glue. I like to use Fabri-tac by Beacon.

General supplies:
Scissors, pins, sewing and embroidery needles, embroidery hoop (if using hand applique method), paper & pencil, fabric marking pen or pencil, paper or cardstock (for printing pattern pieces), iron & ironing board, sewing machine, cutting mat with ruler & rotary cutter (optional), pressing cloth or piece of light colored, 100% cotton fabric for fusing your fleece to the top (depending on the brand you use, some fusible fleece instructions call for it).
