Wonderful doll pattern, easy instructions and great results. This is my first doll pattern and I couldn't be more satisfied. I plan to make several of these dolls, I have lots of ideas for making them exclusive!
I have made this doll four times and each time I love it so much I have a hard time giving it away! The pattern is great. I did add a little width to the arms and legs so I could have bigger seam allowances. I found that I would have holes in my seams sometimes when I used the given allowances for these small, tight body parts. I ordered quality felt online for the hair. I also lined the front the body (all parts) with fusible fleece to make it less see-through because I used muslin for the body and it seemed too thin. Adding the fleece made the doll nice and firm with no lumps from the stuffing.
My favorite "go-to" doll pattern. I made one for my daughters toy themed basket for the fall festival at school and it made the most money in the silent auction because everyone wanted the doll. I got requests for dolls forever after that.
I've made several of these dolls for my grand-daughters. Easy to make and clear instructions.
These are one of favorite dolls to make! The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The dolls are just so stinkin' cute! My daughters love the fact that they have dolls to match their hair and eye color.
This is a very nice pattern. Only thing I don't like is that the head pattern piece is not symmetrical.
Love Love the pattern and my girls absolutely adore the dolls :D
So sweet and snuggly, love the turned in toes! This was an easy pattern to use and able to recreate lots of them in a short amount of time.
Great dolly pattern! My girl loves them, I can't tell you how many she has by now!
I made a Mae doll for my daughter's birthday gift, and she loved it! I was very happy with how it turned instructions were very easy to follow!
I love Bit of Whimsy patterns! I have made several of these little sweeties and they are charming! Perfectly charming! I can't wait to make more!
Nice pattern! thanks
I love making Mae with a matching quilt for baby gifts. They are always a hit.
This was the second pattern I've made from Bit of Whimsy and I loved it. I made one for a friends daughter and she adored it :)
Absolutely gorgeous... quick and easy... my girls have not been able to leave their dolls alone - they both have carried their Mae dolls EVERYWHERE... such a cute and gorgeous handmade and unique dolly!
nice simple pattern
Very cute and easy to make. I have made 2 for my nieces and a boy one for my nephew (he got it 6 months ago for his 1st bday and to this day, it's still his favorite). My girls have birthdays coming, so they are next :)
I've made several Mae dolls--each are different! They're easy to make, and little girls LOVE them!
came out too small
This pattern is SUPER easy to follow and produces a doll exactly like the photo. I made my girls, ages 15 and 23 ( years NOT months! ;) ) one for Christmas. I used a shirt that belonged to my DAD ( their pawpaw) before he passed away 5 years ago; to make her skirt . Instant family heirloom! I made the hair and eye color to match the girl she was sewn for. Sooooo Cute! Highly recommend this pattern!
I have made three of the Mae dolls and one John doll. Bit of whimsy's patterns are so easy and fun. I love how my dolls turned out!
I have Mae doll (among others) pattern from Bit of Whimsy Dolls and I have to say that her patterns are sooo cute, very easy to follow (I'm a beginner) and the results are great ! Her Customer Service is Excellent. Here is a link to one of the dolls that I made from this pattern: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nikismami/2560452227/in/set-72157602113712691/
Very easy to complete and great results on my first try :) Love this pattern!
I just finished my first Mae doll. She's a gift for my daughter who just turned 3 and is giving up her binkys to her baby cousin. Mae will be her gift from her cousin in exchange for the binkys. She's such a sweet doll and very easy to make! I can see our Mae having lots of siblings and friends in the near future! Thanks for such a great pattern! Blessings- Dana
I don't really make dolls. So I was slightly hesitant to purchase this pattern, but it was just so darn cute I couldn't resist. I'm so glad I gave in! The instruction were clear, even a beginning can make Mae. The finished product is absolutely adorable. In fact, I made a sample doll last night and my little girl saw her this morning and decided that it was hers. She loves it. This is a great pattern.
Super fast and easy to make!!!!! I was very impressed with the easy directions and she turned out so cute!!!!!!!
This pattern was great! I've never made a doll in my life and this was very easy to make. Clear instructions and great photo steps...I confess, I didn't really read the instructions closely...the pictures were fairly self explanatory. I haven't embroidered in probably 25 years...so my stitching leaves A LOT to be desired! This is a Christmas present for a friends little girl. I hope she likes it.
Very easy to make and such cute results. I did find that if I embroidered the faces on before sewing the front and back together that it made it a whole lot easier. My daughter loved her doll and I made one for my niece as well. Instructions easy to understand as well.
