“Sweet little shoes - easy to follow directions.”

These shoes are soft and sweet! They keep their shape very well.

They are easy to make - even for beginners! You don’t have to make separate linings for the shoes or a closure. Wool felt was used for the lining of the sample shoes. You can also use acrylic felt. Cotton batik fabric was used for the outside of the sample shoes. You can also use denim, linen, flannel, etc. The blanket stitch is embroidered around the top edges of the shoes. A diagram is included in the pattern for embroidering the blanket stitch.

Shoes will fit babies from newborn to approximately 14 months. Four sizes of shoes are included in pattern - lengths of finished soles are 4”, 4.25”, 4.5” and 4.75”. Optional instructions are given to put a non-skid sole on shoes for babies that are walking.

Materials List:

-Wool felt for lining - color that coordinates with fabric on outside of shoes - amount needed is below (felt does not have to be 100% wool - it can be a blend or it can be acrylic)
-Fabric for outside of shoes - amount needed is below (cotton, denim, linen, flannel etc.)
-Iron-on fusible web - amount needed is below
-Sewing thread that matches fabric
-Embroidery floss – one skein that coordinates with fabric

AMOUNT OF WOOL FELT, FABRIC, AND IRON-ON FUSIBLE WEB NEEDED FOR SHOES ACCORDING TO SIZES:

0 to 6 months - one 6” x 10 1/2” rectangle cut from wool felt, fabric and fusible web
6 to 9 months – one 6 1/2” x 11” rectangle cut from wool felt, fabric and fusible web
9 to 12 months – one 7” x 11 1/2” rectangle cut from wool felt, fabric and fusible web
12 to14 months – one 7 1/2” x 12” rectangle cut from wool felt, fabric and fusible web

TIP: Iron-on web rectangle is fused between wool felt and fabric rectangles to make one pair of shoes.

Thank you so much for this pattern. I had a pattern for little girls shoes and had a request for matching boy shoes to go with an applique onesie I made. I found this pattern and it was super easy, and did not disappoint! Thank you again!
