These small quilted placemats can be easily made up using a number of coordinated fat quarters. Choose tints and tones of one colour, such as light, medium and dark pink, or blend across two colours like light blue, blue-mauve and purple. You could also make these hearts using only red fabrics with varying amounts of black or white in the print.
This quilt demonstrates two techniques used in other jb.quiltdesigns creations. Folded bias squares (sometimes called Cathedral Window curves) and 3D flying geese are both used to create curves without using curved piecing. This is a great place to practice these techniques. An accurate scant ¼” seam is used throughout the project.
