With these instructions learn how to make plastic headband blanks plus how to make woven ribbon headbands for 18 inch dolls such as American Girl, Our Generation, Madame Alexandra, and they even fit Blythe dolls!
With this tutorial you will learn the method I came up with after many failed attempts for making a doll sized headband blank from a regular girl sized plastic headband blank. Each step of the way is shown with clear pictures and text. This tutorial now includes detailed instructions on how to weave ribbon onto the headbands to make woven headbands. Also included are supply lists, and where to buy the materials needed.

Great tutorial for making headbands
Great tutorial and easy to follow. The matching girl and doll headbands are super cute and my daughter loves them. I would recommend using 4 different color ribbons for your first try! Much easier to see the pattern that way and get the hang of it. Once you get it, you no longer need the instructions.
Thank you so much for the information. It truly is easy once you do a few of the headbands. I really like the part on the instructions where you explain how to make doll sized ones from the adult blanks. Keep up the good work.
I love the headbands for the 18" dolls and so does my grandaughter.
I had been looking all over for something like this since I have several little girls that I make matching Girl/AG outfits for and like the hair adornments to match for both. I haven't tried it yet, but the instrucitons are clear and it looks very easy to do. Thanks!
