This pretty ‘Fiorella’ halter dress ties around the neck. The fitting bodice has two elastic choices for the back. You can make the bodice from knit or woven fabric. The bodice is long which makes this dress have a drop waistline. NOTE: for diapered girls you want to shorten the bodice, otherwise the bodice may ride up as well as when adding belt loops. The tutorial shows you how you can shorten the bodice.
The front of the bodice gives a great space for trims or embroidery, you can choose to shirr the back bodice or add regular elastic. Another option is to add a sash and belt loops.
You won't need a serger but it’s recommended for a nicer seam finish. No zippers or buttons to sew either!
Dress length: it hits below the knee, dress might reach to mid calf on shorter girls!
Suitable materials: regular woven cotton fabric or any lightweight fabric, or light weight knit fabric (interlock knits is not suitable).
Skill level: basic to intermediate
This pattern comes with these pages to print: 37 tutorial pages and 13 for the bodice templates (includes which pages to print per size)
The templates do not have layers and the sizes are nested and drafted with different lines to differentiate the sizes.
Note: there are no darts to accommodate the developing girl but the fit is very forgiving due to the elasticized back. You could make the bodice in knit fabric to achieve a more perfect fit.
fabric, sewing machine, serger (optional), iron, scissors, cutting mat, rotary cutter, band elastic or elastic thread for the back bodice, trims optional.
