Round Neck Top Sundress- Sizes 2-7
Description
This top has fabulous vintage-style appeal, and now you can make one for your little girl, or a dozen for all the girls in the neighborhood. The top features a rounded yoke at the neck, button shoulders and contrast band at hem. Choose your favorite two fabrics, and get to sewing! This is the top she'll wear all Summer, and love it so much she'll wear it through the Winter layered over a white tee and jeans. This pattern includes instructions for sizes 2 through 7, with options for lengthening top into dress if desired.
My intent with this pattern is to make sewing stylish children's clothing more accessible to those who are newer to sewing. In this tutorial, the photographs take you through the construction step-by-step, and the directions are written in plain language that is easy to understand. My goal is that you have a pleasant sewing experience, and end up with a garment you'll be proud to have your child wear.
17 pages of step-by-step instructions, over 50 instructional photographs, and a 6 page pattern supplement.
What you’ll need:
- main fabric – ½ yard lightweight woven cotton
- Dress for size 4-5 and 6-7 requires 2/3 yard main fabric.
- contrast fabric – ½ yard lightweight woven cotton
- fusible interfacing – just a tad, about 1 inch by 10 inches
- four buttons (I use 5/8” size)

I have made 2 tops and 4 dresses. Easy to follow and versatile pattern. Use corduroy for winter dresses/shirts and cotton for summer. With sizes 2-7 you can use it for many years.

This pattern was super easy and turned out so cute. I made 2 at the same time and plan to make several more for the spring/summer. I had made a pattern similar to this using a commercial pattern last year and although it also turned out cute, she outgrew the pattern this year. With this pattern, you get several sizes for the same price as one size with the commercial patterns. Also, this one was a little easier to make and I love how you can use a rotary cutter to cut some parts out (makes it so fast). It fits very well and looks cute.

I love the round neck look! I purchased this pattern yesterday knowing that my baby isn't big enough yet and really not sure if the pattern would be big for my 8 year old. Boy, am I glad I did.
