Library Bag Pattern
Description
This is a pattern for a child’s personalized tote bag. It is perfect for use as a library book bag for kindergarten or school.
The bag is lined and interfaced to make it durable. It features a handy pocket on the front on which you can applique your child’s name and a groovy helicopter design.
This bag doesn’t just have to be for boys. Turn it into a girly bag by choosing one of my girly applique designs and making it up in pretty fabrics.
PATTERN INCLUDES:
• A detailed tutorial with step by step instructions and colour photographs.
• Applique templates for all the letters of the alphabet and a template for the helicopter design.
• A list of materials required.
• Email support if required.
FINISHED SIZE:
• 31cm wide x 36cm high (12 1/8” x 14 1/8”)
• 3cm (1 1/8″) gusset
• Handles – 22cm (8 5/8″) drop

Materials
45cm (17.5”) fabric for outer bag
45cm (17.5”) fabric for lining
50cm (19 3/4”) fabric for handles
25cm (9 3/4”) fabric for pocket
Fabric scraps for applique
Light-weight fusible or non-fusible interfacing
Fusible webbing (for appliques)
Matching sewing thread
Sewing machine and general sewing supplies
Note: Requirements are based on fabric 112cm (44”) wide.

This pattern was easy to follow and produced a very nice looking bag. I did use fusible interfacing on the bag fabric as well as the lining fabric to make the bag a lot more sturdy.
