Fast and Fabulous Pillowcases

Pillowcases are a wonderful way to add some pizzaz to the look of an otherwise ordinary bedroom. And beyond that, there are lots of other fun ways to use pillowcases. You can make pillowcases to help decorate for holidays such as Christmas, Valentines Day, 4th of July, etc. Cheer up a sick friend by bringing over a pillowcase made out of a fabric that reflects their favorite food, sport, flower, or cartoon character. A pillowcase made from fabric with cupcakes on it would be a wonderful gift for a friend or child celebrating a birthday. Use Disney fabric to celebrate a family trip to Disneyland. And, fabric with a fairy print would be a perfect way to welcome the tooth fairy!
I will show you how to make pillowcases with three different design details. The first design uses one fabric and is so easy to make, you'll be able to create several pillowcases in an afternoon. The second design style has a contrasting edge trim and can be accented with faux piping if you like. I'll also show you how to make a pillowcase that has a ruffled edge--perfect for accenting a romantic bedroom decor, or for that special little girl.
