I consider myself and ametuer-intermediate seamstress, more on the ameture side lol. The explanations are nice, but I had to make the skirt before I could figure out how to upsize (which I didn't really need to do anyway). I did think the author could have been a little more clear on that. Also on the tulle, DON'T UNFOLD IT, just like the pattern directs lol! I made that mistake and won't do it again. However I had a hard time trimming it to where I needed it and next time I think I will cut it closer to the length I want from the start. The corset directions were very easy to understand, mine would have come out great only if I knew how to shir! I was short on time so I tried just stitching down lastin, but ran out and did polybraid for the rest, and well, it didn't work out too well. I will be practicing shirring for the next time, or buy a ton more lastin. Because of my deadline I didn't get the chance to try the peasant top.

The corset ebook does NOT come with any kind of measurement chart to guide a beginner sewer with sizing and yardage purchasing. I understand giving measuring instructions for FREE online tutorials, but if I am going to pay TOP DOLLAR for these ebooks I don't want to have to do the math - that's what I am paying YOU for!! I emailed the author directly asking for measurements for sizes 5 and 8 but did not get a response. I do not recommend purchasing this frustrating ebook but instead suggest you google corset tutorial as they are bound to provide the same information for free.

Awesome pattern! The directions are fabulous - no second guessing anything & easy to follow along with. I used this top and the skirt to make a halloween costume for my granddaughter - she loved it & it got many compliments. I'll definitely use the pattern again.

I made my daughter a pirate themed version of the corset and skirt and every time she wore it to the Renaissance fair she was a HUGE hit! I reused the corset pattern for a fairy costume for the fairy festival and everyone loved it again. The patterns are easy to follow and although I'm an experienced seamstress, a beginner shouldn't have any problems completing it.

These patterns are amazing! I am a VERY beginner sewer and this set is the very first I have ever completed!!! The instructions are very detailed and easy to follow and the pictures really helped a lot! This set turned out fabulous and I was just shocked that I had made it. so easy to follow these instructions! lots of pictures. i even had a silly question and the author emailed me right back with the answer! the skirt took me less than 2 hours to make and is just adorable. so easy to customize! the peasant top and corset are just as easy and she teaches you how to shir! how can you beat that??? i am a beginning sewer and people just don't believe that i made these outfits all by myself.
