Carla is a genious and her patterns are incredible. Even a new sewer could put together a fabulous outfit in no time. I love it as a dress or with Carla's easy fit pants as a top. I also love that it is reversible. I can either use two different fabrics or, use the same fabric but appliqué something on one side. This gives me a holiday outfit and then reverse to get more wear out.

Made this one a few years ago, matching for my 1st grader and her American Girl doll. She loved it. It was made especially for her Poodles in Paris birthday party. I wish the pattern went larger (10-12). I was fairly new to sewing, and was successful the first time. Excellent instructions. Thank you.

I love this pattern! I've made it many times, and it's always different. I started by making dresses for my daughters, then tops, and now dresses and tops for their American Girl dolls! It's very easy, and there are options for the fasteners on the shoulders.

This pattern is the first dress pattern I ever used successfully. I had scoured the internet and pattern shops looking for a pattern to make a lined A Line Dress without success. I even tried to "wing it", not a good idea. Then I purchased this pattern not only was it easy to follow, it was my "ah ha" pattern when sewing just clicked. I've made around 100 garments with this pattern and my own variations. Absolutely, my hands down favorite. Carla is my hero!

My daughter is getting her first Big Girl American Girl Doll for Christmas so I bought this pattern primarily to make doll clothes and it is SO EASY!!!! I have never been good at making clothes but I am an avid blanket and tote bag maker but this made clothes so easy!! I definitely recommend it!!!!!!

I'm new to sewing and found the instructions for the adorable dress very easy to follow. I'm using a sewing machine that is 50+ years old, so I think most anyone can attempt this pattern and have a great outcome. My machine doesn't zigzag or do buttons, so I used the snap closure option. After sewing on 5 sets of snaps, I would recommend the button route. :)

You never fail to deliver CarlaC. I made two of these today and two mini's for the girls teddy bears. Great pattern with excellent instructions. I have suggested this to a few friends who are beginning sewers. I have received many nice comment on this dress. My only tip is to say if you are doing a reversible dress then hand stitch closed the seam on the least favourite fabric of the two.
