How to Make a Newsboy and Cloche Hat

Description

Now you can make those darling "newsboy" and "cloche" hats! It's the "finishing touch" to any outfit. Full size patterns and photo illustrations will help you create that fun addition to your child's wardrobe.

Patterns include size from infant to 4T and up. Finished sizes are as follows:
Small = approximately a 17 inch hat
Medium = approximately a 19 inch hat
Large = approximately a 21 inch hat
X-Large = approximately a 23 inch hat

IMPORTANT NOTE:

**When you go to print your pattern pages, be sure in the "print" menu that the box that says, "Shrink oversizes pages to paper size" is NOT checked. This box is found in your print menu. You want the p ages to print to full size and scale, so again, make sure this box is NOT checked. Also make sure the box that says "auto rotate and center pages" is also NOT checked.

If you have Adobe Reader 7.0, you will see a "page scaling" section in your print menu. When you print the PDF document you will need to select "None" under "Page Scaling" in printing preferences.

*Note: These are downloadable instructions and pattern for making an item. Since it is a download, a window will open to download and when you are signed into your user account at the time of purchase, it will also be located in the "My Library" section of your user account immediately after purchase.

I had just finished my first hat when a friend came over and just had to have it for her granddaughter. Everyone loves this hat when I show them one. It's wonderful for shading the face. Of course if I don't have fun making something I never make it again and I've made lots of these.

Made the cutest Strawberry Shortcake hat for my daughter for Halloween this last year! It was so cute that I decided to be Blueberry Muffin and made one for myself!

Love this hat!!!! Took me about 1.5 hours to make the first one, and will be quicker second time around, since I had to make adjustments to the first one. Great way to use up the scraps left over from other outfits!

I haven't yet tried this one, but can't wait to (printer is out of ink). It looks super easy.

I love these hats I'm now addicted to making them first a bunch in summer fabrics now I'm into fall ones. The amount of strangers that stop me with my little girls whose 8 months old is unreal, they just want to say how cute she is in her hat! It took a while to get the sizing figured out but well worth it. I make one in an hour or so after she goes to bed at night.

What a great pattern. I made a newsboy hat yesterday for my daughter and I will definitely try the cloche hat pattern today. My daughter´s friend has already asked whether I could make one for her too! I can see these becoming very popular (and I becoming very busy sewing!) among her friends.

I loved the outfit shown by Dainty Designs. It consisted of 3 eBooks. Corset top, layered tulle skirt and cloche hat. The instructions were so easy with lots of pictures. It was like the designer was right there with you. No one in Canada had ever seen anything like that. The outfits turnout gorgeous.

What a quick and easy pattern. Cut and sewn in just over an hour and my daughter thinks she looks so special when she wears it. Every outfit I make will now include a hat.

The Cloche / Newsboy hat is just so cute. I purchased the pattern wondering if it was going to be tedious. It took less than an hour to cut and sew - and what a great accessory for any little girl.
