The doll shoes and sweater/sweatshirt are so sweet and easy to make! They will fit 18” dolls, including American Girl Dolls. There are two styles of shoes – plain and tied with ribbons. They stay on the doll’s feet very well. To make the shoes, fuse fabric to felt (wool or acrylic). Then cut out the top and sole shapes and sew them together. The sample shoes are made from cotton fabric and pleather (special instructions are included for working with pleather). Chenille fabric will make an adorable pair of slippers.

The same pattern is used for the sweater/sweatshirt – the opening is in the front for the sweater and the back for the sweatshirt. Fleece is used for both styles. The edges can be finished with rick rack, machine, bias binding or hand embroidered blanket stitch. Buttons or Velcro can be used for the closure in front or back.

Materials List for Shoes:

-Fabric – 6” x 7” rectangle of cotton, pleather, denim, chenille, etc.
-Felt (wool or acrylic) – 6” x 7” rectangle of a color that coordinates with fabric
-Iron-on fusible web – 6” x 7” rectangle
-1/4” Ribbon – two 7” pieces of satin, grosgrain, etc. for shoes with ribbon ties
-Narrow double fold bias tape – 1/2 yard for shoes with bias tape
-Sewing thread that coordinates with fabric and felt

TIP: Iron-on web rectangle is fused between felt and fabric rectangles to make one pair of shoes.

Materials List for Sweater/Sweatshirt:

-Fabric – 1/4 yard of fleece
-Closure – three 3/4” buttons or 1/2” x 4” hook & loop Velcro
-Optional trim for edges – 1 1/2 yards of medium rick rack or bias tape
-Sewing thread that coordinates with fabric

There are six pages of instructions, three pages of patterns and twenty-seven photographs.

Very clear directions. I only made the sweater for a Christmas present and it was very well received. I'll do shoes for my grand daughters birthday. Thanks.

Now I can make shoes to match all of my daughter's doll dresses, they were so much easier than I would have thought and the fit is great. Shoe pattern worth the price alone, but the sweater pattern is adorable, too.
