Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it, too? You definitely can bake a gorgeous Crazy Sweet Quilt that looks so complicated but is so secretly easy you will want to sew more than one.
What makes it so easy? It starts out easy using precut fat quarters, continues to be easy when the quilting is done as the blocks are created, and finishes easy when no binding is needed. Even better, you can’t mess this quilt up, it’s a crazy quilt! Seams don’t have to be perfectly matched.
Need more convincing to try this pattern? The finished quilt is reversible, just as sweet on the back as the front! And you get a free matching pillow cover pattern, too.
Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible. There are numbered steps and photographs to guide you.

18 fat quarters for the front and back of the quilt (a fat quarter is a 18x21 inch (46x53cm) piece of fabric). You will have enough extra to make the pillow top.
Choose 9 coordinating fabrics, 2 fat quarters of each pattern.
10 fat quarters for the batting layer and pillow. These should be flannel and will show at the ruffled seams. (I cut them myself from flannel yardage. If you cut them from yardage, you will need 2 ½ yards (2.29m) flannel fabric.) If you are not making the pillow, you only need 9 fat quarters.
