“Fantastic pattern. I made it twice in a ponti knit for myself, then with stretch denim on a knit waistband, slightly adjusted for my 10 and 12 year old daughters. Every skirt looks great. I whipped up the patterns, and four skirts, in a day.”

What if you could whip up a skirt pattern anytime you wanted, each one a new length or a new size? This pattern is not really a pattern, but a tutorial on how to make a circular skirt. I have attached it to a cute dropped waist yoke. Once you have learned the process, you can change the waistband, making it longer or shorter, or even leave it off and sew an elastic casing at the skirt top instead.

Fabric choice is important. A lightweight jersey knit will be drapey and swishy around your legs. Something a little more substantial will be warmer and the material a little easier to cut out.

Plan on making more than one – they are so comfy you’ll want to wear one everywhere!

Fabric:

Suitable for knits that are 58-60" wide only.

Fabric yardage is based on desired skirt length:

* 2 yards if your desired length is 20” or less from hip to hem
* 2 1/2 yards if your desired length is 20”-36” from hip to hem
Thread
Wrapping paper with a grid on the plain side (Hallmark brand has it)
Large ruler or yardstick, pencil, scissors

18 pages of instruction and 68 photos or diagrams.

*Note: These are downloadable instructions for making a knit skirt. Pattern pieces are not included. Measurements are given for cutting. Since it is a download, you will receive this by email and it will also be located in the "My Library" section of your user account immediately after purchase.

I did not read the ad properly, and therefore did not realise I would have to make my own pattern, I thought it would be a pdf to download and tape together.
The skirt looks nice, but after purchasing and realising my mistake, I went and downloaded a pdf pattern for a very similar skirt, which was very easy to make. I doubt I will bother making this one.

I modified the waistband height, but loved having the basics to spinoff my own designs! With a serger, you can sew this in an hour or less!
