Car seat canopies are a fun way to change up the look of your car seat and personalize them. They are also great to keep strangers from touching your baby, from blocking the sun out of their eyes while driving, or creating a dark atmosphere where they can sleep while out and about! These are SO easy to make and add just the pop of color and can even help personalize your car seat for a boy or a girl.
The Car Seat Canopy Pattern has TONS of pictures, and even includes some bonus material at the end. Even the most entry level sewer can handle this pattern. Have fun with this pattern and add monogramming, an applique, ric rac or maybe even some flowers or ruffles.

I bought this pattern quite awhile ago and just got around to making it. I think it turned out ok but don't have a carseat to try it on. It is a gift. My question is it states 1 yard of each fabric for the main part of the design but there is no mention of the actual measurements. I used cotton, so the fabric was 44 inches wide and I cut it 36 inches in length but if you are using minkie or another wider fabric are you supposed to cut it to the 44 inches or less? Fabrics are all different widths and there is no mention of how wide the fabric should be. I love how it turned out but hope it isn't too big.
Totally easy and so versatile. A cover or a blanket. Very easy to follow instructions. Might want to include a tips for sewing with minky though. I don't usually pin anything if I don't have to but this HAD to be pinned. Took me 3 rippings and a google search about sewing with minky to figure that out. Afterward though it came out like a dream. Can't wait to make more of these. My best friend loved the one I did for her brand new baby. Thanks.
