The official flower of Mother's Day is associated with fascination, distinction and love! Create your own carnation with a long stem or a short stem. You can even add a pin back to create a beautiful brooch. Add a personal touch to any gift you give by adding one of these. Carnations work up quick and easy!

Red carnations are the state flowers of Ohio, USA.

The diameter of the flower is about 2.5 inches (6.4cm) and its length is about 3.5 inches (8.9cm)

For this PATTERN, you will need to know how to slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, decrease, working in the rounds and working in rows.

This pattern consists of 7 pages. It comes with many pictures detailing the flower crocheted at different stages.

The acrylic yarn I used is 18 wraps per inch and is categorised under 'fine/laceweight' yarn. Wraps per inch (or WPI) is a measure of the grist or the thickness of a yarn.
