This e-book will teach you step-by-step how to make a fun, ribbon and pony bead embellished adjustable scarf. What led me to this particular design was the constant struggle with wondering if I was tying my little one's scarf too tightly or if it was so loose it might fall off her little shoulders! So, I decided I would try BUTTONS to keep one in place. And from there, I decided to make it just a bit more girly. I know it's meant to be functional, but why not have fun with it, too? If you have a little boy to sew for, simply leave the ribbons off! Or maybe even loosen the buttons just a bit and make one for YOURSELF!

# of pages & pictures: 15 instructional pages with 55 photos

Materials needed:

1/3 to 1/2 yd fleece (10 inches exactly are needed, but I would allot for uneven cutting by your retailer)
Buttons (up to 4 different colors to coordinate with fleece)
Thread (to coordinate with fleece and buttons)
Cutting Supplies (preferably a cutting mat and rotary cutter, scissors)
Tape Measure
Straight pins
Variety of ribbon to coordinate with fleece (I use 1/8 to 3/8 inch widths)
Lighter
Pony beads to coordinate with fleece (I purchase mine at JoAnn Fabrics, but you may be able to find them at a local crafting store or Wal-Mart)
Fabric Glue (my preference is Fabri-Tac)
Sewing Machine
Button holer
Seam ripper
2 small pieces of tear away stabilizer (Optional)

Sizes that can be made: This pattern results in a scarf that is appropriate for all 3 of my own children ranging in age from 4 to 9, but it's flexibility will lend itself to other ages, as well. Simply moving the buttons up or down the scarf slightly will create a smaller or larger neck measurement based on your preferences.

Final measurements: Your final scarf length will be dependent on the manufactured width of the fleece you purchase. However, the final scarf width will be approximately 4 inches in all cases.
