Cute bag to keep children "busy" - great for waiting rooms, church, etc.
There's a felt board (with included instructions for a tic tac toe game and tangrams) and a chalkboard on the inside - as well as a pocket for a coloring book...plus 2 zipper pockets to hold the felt pieces and the chalk & crayons.
On the outside there's 2 more pockets to hold more "stuff".
Awesome gift idea!!
I made this Busy Book for my 3-year-old daughter right before we took a 700-mile car trip. I customized it a slipped a clipboard in on the right side and sewed the cloth around the clipboard. Then I clipped coloring book pages to the clipboard so that she would have a hard surface upon which to color. I also cut out a bunch of figures/objects in felt so that she could make different vignettes on the felt side.
She seemed to really like it. I would call myself a beginner sewer, having never sewed with zippers before, and I impressed even myself with how my first attempt at this Busy Bag turned out!
I haven't made this yet but am looking forward to making them as Christmas gifts for nieces and nephews. I might alter the ones for the girls to include something for jewelry making or drawing.
Love this idea. Can't wait to make this for my grandson
My 12 year old wanted me to make this for her for when we travel. I haven't made it yet, but look forward to it. I will leave out the blackboard area and add more games they can pay instead (made from felt). I may add some clips to hold the embroidery thread while they make bracelets or other crafts.
