Although these appliques measure 7 inches, you can certainly make them any size by simply adjusting the size of your printout.

You will see a 3 inch line on the pattern page(s). You can use this as a guide so that you can make sure this item prints out at the proper size.

I've given great instructions for hand applique, but you can certainly machine applique if so desired. I've also given you great tips and techniques to create these appliques, along with some illustrations of the most popular hand applique stitches. Feel free to embellish them any way you want. Use your creative license!

If you aren't into hand applique, or machine applique, you can use a heavy duty fusible webbing such as Heat N Bond UltraHold. You can fuse them to fabric, wood, even card stock to create great greeting cards and other crafts. You can embellish those with by going around them with 3 Dimensional paints. The possibilities are endless!

Supplies needed to make appliques:
Fabric & felt scraps
Embroidery floss (I use 3 strands for stitching)
Paperbacked fusible webbing - I like to use Heat N Bond. They have a light which is great for items
you plan to sew through. They also have a heavy which works well for items that you will be
embellishing with paint, or that you plan to fuse to paper. It offers a strong hold. Be sure to follow the
manufacturer’s instructions fo the brand of webbing you are using.

Optional supplies:
Buttons, sequins, beads, ribbon, 3-demensional paint, fabric paint, rick rack, glitter, bells, wiggle
eyes, charms, or anything else you can think of that will add interest to your applique.

General supplies:
5” to 7” embroidery hoop(s), scissors, pins, needles (sewing, embroidery), paper & pencil, cardstock
(for printing pattern pieces), iron & ironing board
