Score big with a button-up Bowling Shirt! With classic styling and a bit of retro-flair, this shirt is perfect for boys and girls alike. The shirt can be made from a single fabric for a "camp shirt" look, or can be pieced from multiple fabrics for a striped effect. The placket, collar, and sleeves can be made from contrasting fabrics as well, giving unlimited mixing and matching possibilities. The front and back of the shirt are great for personalization with applique or machine embroidery.
The shirt is designed for ease of construction, and can be lined or hemmed. Although it looks like a store-bought shirt, it is put together very differently. The placket is assembled separately from the rest of the shirt, and is attached after the buttonholes are made. This eliminates any worry about "botching the buttonholes" at the end. Each step of the construction process is described in detail and fully illustrated. As in the other volumes of the SewBoutique4Dolly & Me series, this eBook is loaded with tips, tricks, and of course, matching patterns for dollies.

New to sewing!!!! I’ve made a few things and been told I’m a natural. So when my friend said May my son a bowling shirt for his birthday bowling party. I was a little terrified but excited. Bought this pattern and made an unlined style. I was shocked I did it! No issues, everyone was impressed with my attention to detail on getting pictures in the pattern matched exactly and my sleeves went on with no problems!!!
My only problem now is everyone knows I can see! Thanks for such a simple easy to follow pattern!
Have made my son's first bowling shirt. He loves it! I'm going to enjoy making many and varied for him in the coming years :) I will, however, have to adapt a facing for the neck, so it can stay a light, cool, one-layer shirt.
I absolutely LOVE this shirt pattern! Its my go-to for fun shirts for my son. I have made so many of them over the years because the pattern grows with him! I do skip the lining because in the Georgia heat, the fewer layers the better :) I simply hem the sleeves and bottom, and do french seams on the interior.
I made this for my son's 2nd birthday with a Blue's Clue's theme. Easy and so cute!!
This is a great pattern. I love having the ability to create so many different looks with the same pattern. This is a well laid out, easy to follow pattern and I definitely buying the adult version of
this pattern and making many more!

I love this shirt. My son requests it allll the time (alas he has now outgrown it). I have made it for friend and family for Christmas presents and for charity auctions and EVERYBODY loves it :)
Simply the best pattern for little boys. I have made these for years and cannot get enough of them. Carla explains everything so well that even the most basic seamstress will be amazed at their results.
Great pattern even though I never got around to making it. :( Boo on me for waiting to long.
Well written and easy to understand which is great as I am a novice at sewing!!!!

Great, creative pattern for a boy's shirt. Well written and easy to make.
My favorite I make it all the time for my son
What a FUN pattern. I have made several of these. A couple examples: the main shirt in black CARS 2 with a dark red panel down the front and I embroidered VAROOM inblack thread down the front red panel. Another one with Bugs Bunny print with a grey back upper panel I embroidered "WHATS UP DOC?". Another big hit was for my niece I used a pink bowling print and a solid pink panel across the center back and embroidered "FUTURE BOWLER" across the back. CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!!!!!
As always love your patterns .... Thank you

Perfect shirt for my embroidery business. Pieced fabric makes it easy for me to embroider before putting the shirt together. Good sizing.
Pretty easy to follow. Only had a few minor issues but I am a VERY beginning sewer. My son LOVES the shirt I made him. he has outgrown it but he still insists on wearing it, LOL. I think I need to make a new one.

I was really sick with a cold and looked everywhere for a suitable shirt to buy but couldn't find one. My husband watched the kids while I whipped it together and even super sick managed to make a fantastic looking shirt for my son to wear to a fancy Tea Party and he LOVES it. He says its super cool! If I could figure out how to post a picture I would it looks fantastic. Foresee many more in my future.

So fun to make, as soon as I finished one, I'd already gone to the store to buy fabric for lots more.
