Tie(s) were a little long, but the pattern was simple and directions were clear. The ties sewed up in no time at all. Thank you!

I made matching ties for my son and his cousin a few years ago. The fabric I used was leftover from my sister's college quilt. It was such fun to have custom ties for these two boys. I made 3 total, and it was an easy pattern, even for my novice sewing skills. It's time to break out the larger pattern, now that my boy is 5. I look forward to sewing it again.

Love this pattern! used it three years ago for my son's first Easter tie and used it again this past Christmas. I know I will use this for many years to come.

Merrill, Mary - January 4th, 2012

This is very easy to make, but I did find it a little long for my grandsons. I will just make it about two inches shorter next time.

Shannon - January 4th, 2012

Im not sure about this one,the tie seams to be way too long for my 5 year old.

Cooley, Belinda - January 4th, 2012

These ties are easy to make and I'm able to create my son some pretty terrific ties with lightening speed! He's 5 and we love being able make SpongeBob and Power Rangers ties that u can't buy anywhere around here.

Love this pattern. It is so clear and the ties turn out so perfect! Finally I have a pattern to turn to over and over for fun things for my son. (That he'll actually wear!) Great great pattern. If you've ever been scared of ties, this will take away that feeling. I cannot say enough good things about this pattern.

This is a great, easy pattern. I was stumped trying to find a simple navy blue tie to go with my son's outfit for a family wedding in Italy. What little I could find for kids was not the right color and was too expensive. Then I found YCMT - what a great website! I was able to download the pattern immediately and get right to work, which was a lifesaver considering I live in The Netherlands and can't get products shipped here quickly and economically from US vendors. It took me less than an hour to make the tie from start to finish, and I am a stickler for details. My son looked quite charming at the wedding and got plenty of compliments! I will definitely use this pattern again for more ties for special occasions. Thank you YCMT!

Not loving this tie set. Sorry! I tried making two ties for my son and they are still too long. I used the extension like it says and with out and too long both times. SO DISAPPOINTED!

I absolutely love! This e-book This pattern is easy to understand and the printout patterns are very helpful for scale. ! Now, whenever I create a custom made outfit for my daughter , I just have to add in a coordinating tie for my son. Once, you get the pattern down, you can put together a tie in about 20-25 minutes. I have been making a tie a night since I bought this a few days ago :-). Next, I need to figure out how I can get Daddy to coordinate too :-) He’ll just LOVE that :-) Thank you PatchworKids for sharing your creativity :-)

I LOVE this e-book! It’s so neat that I can take some fabric left over after making my daughter an outfit and now coordinate my son’s wardrobe to match!! So cute!! This was fun to make and my son loves ties!! Thanks!

Great e-book! My son is tired of all the sewing projects going to his sister, so we went to the store and he picked out the fabric. I put it together this morning and it is really cute. I look forward to making more fun ties for him to wear. Instructions are clear and finished project looks great. Thank you!

I have mixed feelings about this pattern. For the pros: The pattern is easy to follow, the patterns were easy to put together for a beginning sewer (me), and I was able to produce a tie in a night. The con: I have made over 5 ties trying to experiment what length will work for my 11 month old son. The 1-3 year pattern was too long, as was the 6-12 month old pattern. I have tried shortening the 6-12 mo. pattern by 1.5", 2", & 3" inches and am starting to get burned out on making "test" ties. I also feel like the tie is too wide for my little (11 month old) baby boy so I am also going to play around with the width as well. I either have a real short baby :) or the tie patterns might be for longer-torso boys? After the 1st tie, I have to say that I have the directions memorized because they were very easy. This was a great project for a beginning sewer, and experimenting with the lengths (and now widths) are only making me a better sewer!

I love this pattern! The ties were quick and easy to make. My sons love wearing them and I have received many complements!

WOW!! How EASY to follow directions and get the ties sewn! I was able to complete 6 ties in an extrememly short period of time. My son BEGS to wear his ties now! THANKS

I am pretty new to sewing, and this is the first pattern I've done from this website. I can't believe how pleased I am with the results! I've made 5 ties for my 2 older sons to share. They came together very quickly-the last 3 I did the "stack and whack" method and sewed them assembly-line style so that went REALLY fast (even wearing my 2 month old in the baby bjorn for much of the time). It's great to have such an economical way to dress my boys nicely for church without having to wear the same thing each week. By the way, to those who will be making this for the first time, know that when you are buying fabric to make one of these ties, the thread you use won't really be visible when the tie is on (at least not under a collared shirt). So you probably don't need to worry about buying an entire spool of matching thread just for this project, unless you are much more of a perfectionist than I am!

The first pattern I bought for my son! There aren't that many choices when it comes to boy's ties so I was excited when I saw this! Now he can pick out the pattern (with some guidance) and have a tie made for him in a snap! Great for Daddy/Son outfits!

Kris - August 1st, 2011

I loved this book! It was really easy and I've already made my son 3 ties! These were fun to make for family pictures, too.

Melissa Boclair - August 1st, 2011

Great pattern- made a tie in no time. Very easy to follow pattern and create a crisp , beautiful ties. Just need to figure out how to make into a man's tie so all the "men" in the house can have matching ties!! Can't wait to make more. Thank you for a great ebook- highly recommend- 5 stars!*****

This e-book is fantastic. I can hardly believe that in 30 minutes I was able to make my son a tie that was crisp and professional. I'm addicted to sewing ties and have made lizard , Thomas the Train, US Flag and abstract design ties. My boys now enjoy shopping the fabric section with me. Thanks so much!

Melanie - August 1st, 2011

I love this e-book. My son was getting a little jealous of all the sewing I was doing for his little sister. When I found something I could make for him he got really excited. Now he has several "COOL" ties to chose from on Sunday morning. He loves that he gets to wear his favorite superhero or cartoon character to church. We even made one for a friend for his birthday and his Mother reported that he had been coming home from school and putting it on everyday. Love it YCMT!!!

Sue Brewer - August 1st, 2011

Just bought this pattern last night and have made 2 ties and have 4 cut out and ready to go! This is wonderful! I have 2 grandsons whom I make clothing for and now I can make them ties to match their 6 year old sister's outfits (which I also make). The instructions are superbly written and the photos are a bonus! Great job!!
