Simple Pillowcase Dress - Sizes 6mths-6yrs
Description
This simple pillowcase dress is so sweet and easy to make! It comes in seven sizes – 6 months, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. A ribbon or fabric tie is inserted through the casing at the top of the dress and tied on one or both sides. Detailed instructions are included for making the fabric ties and finishing the seams. Dress can be made from two fabric rectangles (photographed on last page of the instructions) or dress can be made with or without the apron, from four fabric rectangles (plus a rectangle for the apron). A vintage doily, hand towel or handkerchief will look beautiful on the front of the dress in place of the apron.
The dress can be worn alone or it will look adorable with a coordinating t-shirt (long or short sleeves), turtleneck or onesie, along with tights or pants underneath the dress. You can also make a shorter version of the dress for a cute shirt! Medium weight cotton fabrics were used for sample dresses.
This PDF e-pattern includes measurements for dress, a detailed materials list, clear instructions written in English and step-by-step photographs.
MATERIALS NEEDED FOR MAKING DRESS FROM FOUR FABRIC RECTANGLES (ANY SIZE)
44/45” Fabric – 3/8 yard for top of dress, 1/2 yard for bottom of dress, 3/8 yard for apron (optional), 1/4 yard for fabric tie (optional)
7/8” or 1” Ribbon for tie at top of dress – one 60” piece (not needed if you are making fabric tie)

I've made two of these so far (size 2T). Very quick and easy - no defined armholes so no seam binding to pin and sew; very cute when finished. Love the many different sizes and numerous options to obtain different looks. The 2T seems to be true to size. Will be using this pattern again.

Cute and easy but sizing seemed a little big in the bust area. Made it kind of bulky up there. I had to adjust the length also because my kids are short.
