The Sara Bib
Description
I named this bib after my daughter Sara because she had a similar bib that she wore as a baby and toddler. Sara is all grown up now but I kept the bib because I always thought it was the perfect bib and it brings back many fond memories. My bib design is very similar to the original but with a contemporary flair and a few improvements. The extended curves at the shoulders and the pocket will provide a protective shield from food that doesn’t end up in baby’s mouth. The bib is finished two different ways – with piping and a pocket, and also plain without any trim. Both bib styles are very easy to make. We’re sure you’ll want to make a bunch.
You can use terry cloth or pretty chenille for the back of the bib. It's reversible so you can use either side for the front.
Even though this is called the Sara bib, it’s perfect for a girl or a boy! The bib measures 12 1/2” from shoulder to shoulder and 9 1/2” from the neck down.
This pattern provides excellent color photographs for sewing on the piping. If this is something you have never attempted before, you’ll learn how easy it is to accomplish. Once you learn how to do it, you may want to use piping as a trim for other sewing projects. It makes a nice edging.

This is a very nice pattern with lots of on the shoulders, which is always gets messy when babies turn thier heads!
