Reversible Short Jacket for Babies - Sizes 0-12mths

From our I Made This Gallery:

Description

This little jacket is so sweet and easy to make! The jacket is very versatile. It’s great for boys and girls. It can be made without sleeves for a vest, or short or long sleeves. The ends of the sleeves can be rolled up to shorten the length and allow a narrow cuff of the lining fabric to be seen. The jacket can also be made from fleece without a lining and finished completely by hand with blanket stitches embroidered around the raw edges if a sewing machine isn’t available. Ribbon ties are optional. Instructions are given to sew an optional binding around the edges of the sleeves. Sleeves can be made from the same fabric as the body of the jacket or a coordinating color.

The jacket can be lined with cotton fabric for a lightweight jacket for spring or summer. It can also be lined with terry cloth to make a cover-up for the beach. Or it can be lined with a heavier fabric, including wool felt that has been prewashed, for a fall jacket.

The jacket is reversible so it can be turned inside out and worn with the lining facing out.

It comes in two sizes – 0 to 6 months and 6 to 12 months.

Just finished my first baby jacket. It was so quick and easy and turned out incredibly cute. Will get a pic loaded.

This jacket turned out darling! I'd like to get it in the toddler sizes, if possible. I actually used "frog" closures, instead of ribbon.
