Precious Drawstring Bag
Description
The drawstring bag measures 12” wide by 10” tall by 5” deep. This is a very simple bag to make. The bottom of the bag is formed by simply folding the corners and sewing on buttons. Instructions are included for making a smaller or larger version of the bag.
The bag can be used as a medium size purse or gift bag. It’s great for adults and children, depending upon the type of fabric used. Fabric suggestions are home decorator, batik, calico, designer, novelty fabrics or specialty fabrics for an evening bag. Heavyweight or lightweight fabrics can be used. The bag is attractive with or without the optional flower embellishment.

Materials Needed:
-Solid or print fabric for outside of bag – 1/2 yard
-Contrasting solid or print fabric for lining – 1/2 yard
-Narrow cord for drawstring – two 45” pieces (1/4” cord was used for sample bag)
-Buttons with shanks for bottom corners – two 5/8” or larger
-Coordinating sewing thread
-OPTIONAL FLOWER EMBELLISHMENT – large silk flower, feathers, three 4” pieces of -5/8” ribbon, fabric glue
