These booties are soft and sweet! They keep their shape very well. Fabric is fused to wool felt, fleece, terry, denim or twill fabric. Wool felt is available almost anywhere they sell fabric. Felt does not have to be 100% wool. It can be a blend. Terry, twill or denim can be used instead of felt to make them more lightweight for spring or summer. Edges of booties may fray slightly but it adds to the charm of the design. Booties are easy to make - even for beginners! We’re sure you’ll want to make more than one pair. You can use all types of 1/4” to 1/2” ribbon for ties, including grosgrain, satin, sheer, etc. Sample booties have wool felt on the inside, cotton fabric on the outside and they are tied with sheer ribbon.
These bug shoes will fit babies from newborn to approximately 14 months. Four sizes of booties are included in pattern - lengths of finished soles are 4”, 4.25”, 4.5” and 4.75”. Optional instructions are given to put a non-skid sole on booties for babies that are walking.
