Penguin, Snowman & Reindeer Stockings
Description
These precious penguin, snowman and reindeer stockings are easy to make. The finished size of each stocking is 10” tall x 7 1/4” wide.
The patterns can be enlarged or reduced to make them whatever size you would like. They would look adorable reduced to a very small size, making them from felt, for tree ornaments. Sample stockings are made from fleece with cotton fabric appliqués. Felt can be used for stockings but they will be more stiff – not as soft and flexible.
Sample stockings have machine straight stitch sewn around shapes close to the edges. Other options would be to embroider the blanket stitch by hand or machine, or sew the running stitch around the edges by hand, or you could draw stitches around the edges with a permanent fabric marker for a simple look!
You can use the patterns for the penguin, snowman and reindeer to make appliqués on t-shirts, onesies, tote bags, etc – just cut the body shapes straight across the bottom.

Fleece – 9” x 22” rectangle for each stocking
Cotton fabrics for reindeer, snowman, and penguin
Double sided iron-on fusible web
5/8” Ribbon
5/8” Button with two or four holes – one is needed for each stocking hanger
Embroidery floss or #8 perle cotton - black
Sewing thread – black was used for sample stockings
