Monkey Crayon Holder
Description
This sweet crayon holder is fun and very easy to make. The finished size is 5” x 8” when it is closed. It opens up to 5” x 16”. It holds a 16 pack of crayons. The monkey appliqué is simple to make, using machine stitching. Black and white buttons are sewn on for the eyes. The holder has ribbon ties on the side. It can also be made without the monkey appliqué on the cover, using a decorative fabric.
The crayon holder can be made for girls and boys. It is not recommended for children under the age of three.
The monkey design can also be appliquéd on bibs, t-shirts, onesies, tote bags, etc.
Materials Needed:
-Light to medium weight cotton print fabric – three different 1/4 yard pieces for front cover, lining & pocket
-Light to medium weight cotton solid fabric – 4 1/2” x 6” tan rectangle for monkey’s face & ears
- 2 1/2” x 4” medium brown rectangle for top of monkey’s head
-Fusible fleece – 1/4 yard
-Sewing thread – black & color that coordinates with fabrics
-3/8” to 5/8” Ribbon – two 10” pieces of a coordinating color for ties
-Buttons with two holes – two 7/16” black buttons & two 5/8” white buttons (black buttons are sewn on top of white buttons to make eyes)

I've just finished making 5 of these crayon holders, they are so easy to make thanks to the easy to follow instructions, they look great :) thanks Mary....keep those patterns coming!
