Monkey Blankies
Description
The monkey blankie is very easy to make. The blanket is 14 1/2” x 14 1/2” plus the size of the head. The monkey head is 8” wide by 4 1/2” high. You can attach the monkey head to any size blanket that you would like, including a purchased blanket.
Flannel fabric was used for the sample blankie. You can also use cotton or fleece fabric.
The face details are embroidered so they are completely safe for babies. Toddlers will love them too! The blankie will wash and wear well. The monkey can be made in pink or blue fabrics for a boy or girl.
Materials Needed to Make One Blankie:
-Flannel or cotton solid fabric (or fleece for a heavier blankie) – 1/2 yard for head and blanket front, 1/2 yard for face, ears and blanket back
-Iron-on fusible web – 4” x 5 1/2” rectangle for face
-Embroidery floss – dark brown & white
-Sewing thread – color that coordinates with fabrics
-Polyester fiberfill stuffing
There are seven pages of instructions, one page of patterns and thirty photographs.
