These baby bonnets are so sweet and easy to make! One can be made in under an hour. Bonnet comes in three styles – girls simple bonnet with piping, boys hat with small front brim and girls bonnet with folded brim and lace. The simple girls bonnet and boys hat are reversible. Light to medium weight cotton fabric is used for the outside of the bonnets and the lining. No gathering is necessary. The back has a simple pleat. 3/8” to 5/8” ribbon is needed for ties. Bonnet comes in three sizes – 0 to 3 months, 3 to 6 months and 6 to 12 months.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR FINISHING BONNETS - adding lace instead of piping to simple bonnet, or adding piping to folded brim in place of lace. I used the same fabric for the outside and lining on the bonnet with the folded brim . If you use a different fabric for the lining of that bonnet, it will show on the folded front edge for a different look.

I made this sweet bonnet as the perfect finishing touch for my daughter's first Easter outfit. The instructions are clear and straight-forward. Thanks for a great pattern.

The first one was a bit of a trick. I found running some gathering stitches about a generous inch from the edge helped me ease it all in (like an inset sleeve), but after the first, the second was a breeze and it was done in an hour. I made the boys version as baby gifts and plan to do the 6-12months for my own little girl.
