Ballerina & Dorothy Bibs

Description

The ballerina and Dorothy bibs are very easy to make. Each bib measures 7 1/4” wide. The length is 10” from the top of the bib to the bottom (the length of the bib is 8 1/2” under the neck). The bibs look like little dresses with legs underneath. Sample bibs are embellished to look like a ballerina and Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. As the designer, you can create little bib dresses, using fabrics of your choice. This is a great way to use leftover fabric scraps.

This PDF e-pattern includes full size patterns, materials list, detailed instructions written in English, and clear step-by-step photographs.

There are five pages of instructions, two pages of patterns and thirty-one photographs.

Materials

Light to medium weight cotton print fabrics – 5” x 9” rectangle for dress top, 4” x 9” rectangle for dress bottom, 3” x 5” rectangle for socks, 3” x 5” rectangle for shoes, 9” x 13” rectangle for bib back
Fusible fleece – 9” x 13” rectangle (fleece has a fusible web on one side - it is adhered to the wrong side of the front bib shapes. If fusible fleece is not available or you prefer not to use it, you can use a firm cotton batting between the front and back of the bib to make it heavy enough so that spills don’t go through the fabric.)
Extra wide double fold bias tape –1 yard
Ribbon – 1/2 yard of 3/8” grosgrain ribbon for ballerina waist & top of shoes, 1 yard of 1/4” satin ribbon for
ties on ballet shoes, 5/8 yard of 3/8” grosgrain ribbon for Dorothy dress straps and bottom edge
Medium rick rack – 1/2 yard for Dorothy
1” Gathered or straight eyelet lace – 1/4 yard for Dorothy
1/2” Buttons with two or four holes – four for Dorothy
1/2” Purchased ribbon roses – three for ballerina
