I love to combine appliqué and lots of prints in my creations so came up with this sassy skirt I’ve named the Audrey Ruffle Skirt. The pattern has 3 variations for the front and all are the perfect canvas for applique or some of the beautiful large scale prints that are available. The back is covered in ruffles that can be one print or 6... or any number in between. The skirt has a flat front waistband with elastic across the back to give the skirt a fitted look while still allowing for ease of dressing.
The e-book includes:
* 3 variations of the basic skirt
* 43 pages of instructions to make skirts in sizes 7-16yrs
* 80 color photos and illustrations
* Printable pattern pages
* Also includes instructions and pattern pieces to make a skirt for 15 - 18" dolls or stuffed animals
Materials you'll need:
* Woven 'quilters' cotton or similar weight: Up to 6 prints for a total of 1 - 2 yards depending on the skirt size and style
* 1" elastic cut to length for waist back
* 1" x 16" piece of medium weight interfacing
* Trim such as rickrack (optional)
Equipment you'll need:
Sewing machine, scissors, ruler or measuring tape, iron and ironing board, straight pins
Although a serger is optional, I love the detail it adds as an edge finish on the ruffles. Of course a traditional hem can be used with equal success.
*Note: These are downloadable instructions and patterns for making a skirt. Since it is a download, a window will open to download and when you are signed into your user account at the time of purchase, it will also be located in the "My Library" section of your user account immediately after purchase.
Very cute skirt & great way to use up scraps!
easy pattern, beautiful results
Really like this skirt. I use it for left over pieces of prints that I love. My grandchild is really in love with it too.
Loved this pattern! It went together quickly. Pattern is written very well. Made a darling gift for my teenage granddaughter's birthday! Can't wait to make again!!!
I am completely in love with this pattern. I thought it was going to be difficult, but I should have known that Lisa would explain it perfectly! This is the best skirt ever for using pieces of a hard to part with print, or adding applique- especially for the girl who's growing into the tweens like mine. I know I'll be making lots more of them!
