This cute apple cozy is very easy to crochet. Make for yourself or gift to friends and loved ones.
This cozy will fit an apple with diameter of about 2.6 inches/6.6cm at its broadest part. The two green ties will hold a smaller apple securely inside. I've made the ties to knot once only for convenience of taking out the apple. However, I've included instructions to increase the length of the ties if you prefer to knot them twice. Also, there is some stretch in the design and hence it can accomodate a bigger apple too!
For this pattern, you will need to know how to slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, decreasing, fpdc, bpdc and crocheting in front or back loops only. Instructions are given for fpdc and bpdc.
I used a “laceweight/fine” cotton-acrylic blend yarn which is 18 wraps-per-inch. This pattern consists of 6 pages and it comes with many pictures detailing different stages of crocheting. The final cozy size will depend on the type of yarn used, the crochet hook size and crocheting tension.

I love this apple cozy pattern! The instructions are easy to follow, it's cute and no more bruised up apples in the girls purses. I have also altered it ever so slightly to make it fit around some small glass bowls that I heat vegetable in the microwave. After the veggies are heated we carry them to the table and keep them in the cozy.

• Yarn (A variegated yarn and a green yarn. I used a fine/laceweight cotton-acrylic blend yarn which is 18 wraps-per-inch. For bigger cozy, you can either use a thicker yarn or change the crochet hook to a bigger size)
• Crochet Hook (size needed for your yarn type. I used Clover crochet hook size 3/0=2.2mm)
• Tapestry/yarn needle
• A pair of scissors
