Anya Dress is kimono inspired wrap dress with a little twist. It features a very full skirt and the big sash that ties in front accentuating the print of the dress. The wrap style ensures perfect fit and adjustability. This is one outfit that will last in the wardrobe for a long time.
No buttonholes, no zipper!! This is a great design for all levels seamstress. It has fully lined bodice. The skirt is very full and it is just irresistible to twirl. This pattern is very versatile. It comes with sleeves option with different lengths (short, ¾ or long) for chilly weather. You can even make it sleeveless on summer. It looks pretty and elegant both ways. This is one pattern that will give you more bang for your buck. Get your creative juices flowing and make this dress YOURS!
In here, you will find instructions and the pattern to construct this dress to fit 12M-8Y. Pattern pieces are computer drafted and color coded for the size. All instructions are simple to follow and accompanied by colored photos for better elaboration.
I made the sleeveless version of the dress in a cotton print for my 8 year-old daughter and found the pattern and instructions very straight forward (they appear to have been updated to address previous reviewer's issues). The dress fit as pictured and although I planned on adding the snaps to the closure it turned out that it was not necessary - it fit just right and stayed in place just fine. Loved the dress and will make it again.
Loved this dress came together really well, and looked great, it was a little confusing to follow and had to figure a few things out, but ended with a really cute dress.
Adorable dress, BUT... I just started cutting out the pattern pieces for this and it appears that only *one* sleeve is indicated on the cutting pattern. Also, it would be nice to have the grainlines noted on either the pattern or the cutting instruction layout.
Review update: I received an updated pattern with the requested corrections, but unfortunately additional items were still missing (a second bodice cut). I have now completed the dress and as cute as it is, my overall review of the pattern is that it needs another pass by a reviewer. Sewing instructions were vague (which side of the skirt to cut the curve?) or left me guessing (sash placement on the left/right bodice?). I also needed to make tweaks to the dress after for the fit to be as pictured. In summary - love the look of the dress, but it should have been a much easier project had all the cutting/sewing instructions been correct.
