This large tote bag is perfect for day trips or to use as a diaper bag, or for those of us who like to carry lots of stuff in our bag. It's even large enough to carry a laptop! It measures 17” wide x 14” tall x 4” deep. The attractive pleated exterior pockets are large enough to keep your essentials accessible, but the curved design of the pockets ensures that your things won't easily fall out. The roomy interior features your choice of a large zippered pocket hidden in the lining, or a simple-to-sew patch style pocket. Designed for sewers with at least basic sewing skills. I have included instructions for use with a rotary cutter, or you can make a pattern easily using poster board.

Pages: 13 Pictures: 26 photos, 2 diagrams

Materials needed:

7/8 yard of focus fabric (used to make the exterior pockets)
7/8 yard coordinating fabric (this is the fabric that will show from behind your exterior pockets and will also be used to make the bag’s straps)
• 7/8 yard lining fabric
• 1 1/3 yard 44/45” wide fusible fleece interfacing (I like Pellon brand #987) for a soft, quilted feel OR 1 1/3 yard of any 44/45” wide medium weight fusible interfacing for a stiffer feeling bag (I like Décor Bond)
• magnetic snap closure (you can find these in the bag making section of your fabric store)
• 12” zipper (optional)
• coordinating thread

Sizes that can be made: one size
Final Measurements: 17” wide x 14” tall x 4” deep; straps 26 ½”

Lots of pictures and fairly simple instructions. My bag looks fantastic and now that I've done one I have a feeling I'll be making quite a few more!
